We've all heard the questionable rhetoric: a vote for Nader is a vote for Bush, or some other such example of why we must not risk breaking the two-party system that plagues our nation. The election is too important, this thinking suggests. There is too much on the line to waste a vote.
I do not believe any of this. My 2000 vote for Nader did not take away a vote for Gore, because I have no interest in voting for Democrats. Why have I only really heard this thinking in regard to independents on the left? Is a vote for Libertarian taking away a vote for Bush?
